3 - Sedgley Road East between Dudley Port Junction and Hamilton Drive
Summary of the proposed route improvements for this section
Bus Stops to the West of Dudley Port
• Footway will be built out to protect parking and lay-by will be realigned.
• Bus Stop to be upgraded to include new road markings and higher level kerbs to allow easier access.
Dudley Port Junction
• This junction will have significant improvements please see separate page. Proposed improvements to the Dudley Port-Sedgley Road East Junction.
Parking outside 50-59 Sedgley Road East
• Parking will be formalised and set into the footway slightly.
• 11 parking bays will be provided which will be protected by a footway build out at the Western end and hatching at the Eastern end.
Red Route restrictions
• Red Route restrictions along A457 Sedgley Road East and Tipton Road, which includes ‘No Stopping at Anytime’ together with formalised areas of on-street parking.

Design Changes Since Consultation
Since the Consultation in 2008 a number of revisions have been made to the proposals for the corridor. The following design changes have been made to this section:
Design Change 002
- On Sedgeley Rpad East, proposed stopping restrictions have been revised between numbers 9 and 39. The new restrictions are "No stopping Monday to Fridy, 7am - 10am and 4pm to 7pm"

Design Change 006
- At the junction of Sedgley Road East and Dudley Port the Pedestrian Refuge Layouts are to be revised to provide a Reverse stagger. A bus lane has also been shown on the northbound exit from the junction.

Today a two-week local consultation on improvements at three junctions on the A457 Route 87 begins.

Today twenty-two changes to the proposed improvements on the A457 and Route 87 have been published, following public consultation.
A457 receive Cabinet approval
28th April 2009
Following public consultation, the A457 Route 87 proposals have been given Cabinet approval to proceed to the next stage.
