2 - Park Lane between Castle Street and Dudley Port Junction
Summary of the proposed route improvements for this section:
- Bus Stops
• Bus Stop facilities to be upgraded with higher level kerbs to allow easier access.
- Red Route restrictions
• Red Route restrictions along A457 Sedgley Road East and Park Lane West, which includes ‘No Stopping at Anytime’
together with formalised areas of on-street and off-street parking.
- Tipton Green School Zone
• Parking will be provided for vehicles on the South side of the carriageway. This will provide parking for residents overnight and for the school in the day. Vehicles will be protected by footway build outs at each end.
• A bus stop will be located on a build out.
• The section of carriageway between Silvertrees Road and Baker Street will be designated a 20mph zone to improve safety outside the school during school peak hours only.
• The footway between Baker Street and Bush Road will be built out to reduce the crossing distance and carriageway alignment.
• The existing crossing will be upgraded to a Puffin crossing to improve safety.
• The footway will be realigned on the Northern side of the carriageway to allow enough space for the parking on the South side.
- Parking opposite Victoria Park
• Restricted parking will be provided which will allow vehicles to park between 7pm and 7am.
- Pedestrian crossing near Mayfair Gardens
• A new uncontrolled pedestrian crossing will be build by the rail bridge to provide a safe crossing point.
- Coneygree Road junction
• Upgrade of signalised junction to improve traffic flow at peak times to be investigated.
• Improvements to pedestrian crossing facilities proposed.
- Parking between Coneygree Rd and Dudley Port
• The existing parking area will be resurfaced and formalised to provide parking for 24 vehicles on a new Asphalt surface.
• Parking will be accessed via dropped kerbs.

Design Changes Since Consultation
Since the Consultation in 2008 a number of revisions have been made to the proposals for the corridor. The following design changes have been made to this section:
- Design Change 001 - On Park Lane West, near to Tipton Green Methodist Church, a section of proposed stopping restriction has been revised from "No Stopping Monday to Friday, 7am - 7pm" to "No Stopping Monday to Friday, 7am - 7pm except 10am - 4pm, Loading 20 minutes"
