S1 - Crockett's Lane / High St Junction,
S2 - A4030 High St / B4169 High St Junction and
S3 - Fenton St / St Paul's Rd Junction
Problems
- At the Crockett's Lane / Cooper's Lane Junction, delays have been observed eastbound which are attributed to right turning traffic into Cooper's Lane.
- At the A4030 / B4169 High St Junction, delays to buses exiting the B4169 High St and travelling eastbound have been recorded. It has been identified that this is due to traffic turning right into the junction blocking exiting vehicles.
- At the Fenton Street / St Paul's Road junction there are delays to buses turning into and out of Fenton Street due to the volume of traffic along St Paul's Road.
Proposals
Crocketts Lane / High Street
Improvements proposed for this junction include:
- Proposed junction widening to accommodate right turn filter lane into Cooper’s Lane.
- MOVA signal upgrade of signals to improve efficiency
- Signal controlled pedestrian crossing facilities.
A4030 High Street/B4169 High Street junction
Improvements proposed for this junction include:
- Proposed right turn ban into B4169 High Street.
Fenton Street/St Paul’s Road junction
Improvements proposed for this junction include:
- Proposed mini-roundabout in place of existing priority junction operation.
- Proposed one-way system along Bertram Road, travelling away from St Paul’s Road.
- Proposed raised entry treatment on St Paul’s Road (High Street side).
- Restricted parking on approaches to the junction.
