Problems

A number of accidents have been recorded at these junctions, the majority of which involved vehicles making right turn manoeuvres from the side roads, across the dual carriageway and turning into the path of oncoming vehicles. Delays have also been identified to eastbound traffic, caused by vehicles queuing in the offside lane of Oldbury Ringway waiting to turn right into Seven Stars Road.

Proposals

• Proposed right turn ban for vehicles exiting side roads as follows:
1. Seven Stars Road - alternative route westbound available via Churchbridge Island.
2. Stone Street - alternative route eastbound available via Green Street.
3. Birmingham Street - alternative route eastbound available via Halesowen Street.
• Dedicated right turn filter lane to be created within the central reservation to accommodate right turning traffic into Seven Stars Road.
